Prior to employment, all staff are required to be enrolled in the Central Background Registry (background check through the Office of Child Care). Within ninety days obtain their First Aid/CPR Card, Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety, Safe Sleep Training, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect and an Oregon Child Care Food Handler’s Card. During the certification year all staff are required to obtain at least 18 hours of continuing education through local training, college courses and/or conferences.
